Air compressors work by supplying workers tools with air when the firing trigger is pulled, which subsequently causes the tool to fire its fastenings. This compressed air is supplied via a connected air hose. The motor installed in the compressor sucks in the surrounding air, which then fills its storage tanks until it reaches its upper limit, at which point the motor switches off. After being used for a period of time, the air pressure levels within the storage tanks will reach its lower limit, at which point the motor will restart and refill its tanks. These motors are produced in two main variations, electric or petrol.
