Founded in 1948 under the brand name Hitachi Koki, the Hitachi group has over 70 years of engineering experience. It has a strong worldwide presence, with its main headquarters based in Tokyo, Japan. Over the years the brand has gone through a number of name changes. Most recently, in 2017, the North American branch of the Hitachi group rebranded its tools under the name Metabo HPT, with other countries rebranding under the name Hikoki, after its parent company Kiko Holdings Co., Ltd partnered with a global investment firm. The company’s tools, workforce and production process remain unchanged, with the only difference being the brand name.
