Designed to fasten materials together, a pneumatic staple gun is a type of stapler that is powered by compressed air. Pneumatic staplers can be categorised into three main groupings, these are framing staplers, upholstery staplers and flooring staplers. Framing staplers are designed for heavier duty and structural applications. Upholstery staplers are designed for upholstering applications where a more aesthetic finish and a weaker hold is required. Finally, flooring staplers are designed to attach hardwood flooring to sub floors. It is worth noting that almost every staple gun has a “type”. A stapler’s “type” is determined by two main factors, its gauge and crown. The purpose of this is to allow a user to easily identify the type of staple gun they need and also the corresponding staples that should be used with that tool.
